5-Feb-2026: OK.. so I have not been as great as I want to be at keeping this blog going. I take full responsibility for that. I have had time but I chose to spend it doing something else. I have content but I chose not to use it. I have no one to blame but myself.
The above statement is an example what what it means to “TAKE RESPONSIBILTY”.
I come here today because I can’t let this one go. Today’s soapbox blog moment is a PERFECT example of why I have adopted the saying “Lower your expectations”….of society as a whole.
Watch this video before you continue on my soapbox:
Here is where I jump on my soapbox:
This individual “Kris” made a series of choices, mistakes actually.
Let’s break them down:
MISTAKE #1 — leaving the warmth of a hotel on a very cold Pigeon Forge snow day.
I say that because — she could have called her “AAA” or “Progressive” and remained in the warmth and comfort of her hotel with food and charging cable.
MISTAKE #2 — driving in bad weather on a tire with known issues.
I say this because it feels like she was just hunting for drama. Why would you NOT call the place you are expecting to get service BEFORE showing up ESPECIALLY not being from the area and the weather conditions?
MISTAKE #3 — parking at a closed gate
If you arrive at a business and the gates/doors are locked why would you park in front of them? Logic tells you that, “hey, if they return they will need to get in so they can help me” or “hey, they aren’t here”. We will give her kudos for admitting that she DID see the signs but she compounded this mistake by remaining parked there while she chose to get out of her warm van and film a video begging someone to fix stupid.
MISTAKE #4 — leaving the van unattended
She makes a pitty party of 1 video, calls 2 of the 3 businesses listed and calls a “friend” to come get her because she is hungry and her phone is almost dead.
*PAUSE* *PAUSE* *PAUSE*. WAIT WAIT WAIT!! Sooooo many questions here….mistakes have piled up and now we are worried about a dead phone and food??! This “friend” couldn’t just bring you food and a cable? You returned to the warmth of a hotel to eat and charge the phone but you were worried about missing AAA or Progressive??
From this point, I just cannot keep counting the mistakes made because of the choices this person made. She admits that she saw the signs. She admits to driving on a ‘slowly leaking tire’ but felt she couldn’t drive 10-15 more feet to a proper parking spot. She chose to make silly pity party videos instead of conserving battery. She chose to call this “friend” who, if you ask me, isn’t much of a friend because they returned her idiotic butt back to the scene and left her KNOWING her van was behind the gate…leaving her in the cold!!! THAT is a poor choice of “friends” on her part.
It saddens me that she appears to have also found a group of fellow idiots out there that think like her and they helped her out while also making the situation worse with threats, videos and lies. The “Val” person stirred the pot and loved doing it.
Folks… this is why I have learned to lower my expectations of society. The lady in this video started the day making mistakes that impacted innocent, honest, hard working people and expected pity.
Had I personally heard the stupid whining story about “$150 to my name” I think I would have lost it. Do you know the number of times I have had a nickel to my name? NO. Because I have not videoed it. I have not shouted it out to the world. I have not laid it on the feet of others. I TOOK RESPONSIBILITY!!!!
TAKE RESONSIBILITY for you choices, actions and situation.
