S2|E1 – I’m NOT Talking Outta My A$$

Feb 11, 2021 – On February 9th I uploaded a new episode after a 6mo hiatus. I titled it “I’m NOT Talking Outta My A$$” because those words were said to me and it infuriated me probably more than I admitted at the time. I probably shouldn’t let it infuriate me, but…it did. I’ll get over it and having my podcast and this blog as a platform to share the frustration helps me. I hope you go give it a listen. Heck, if you are just not discovering my blog and podcast – might I suggest you just do a little binge listen and start from the beginning??

Just to give ya a little insight into the podcast – basically, I reached a point where I was just sick of listening to opinions and keeping mine silent. Now those that know me are probably not going to buy into my being “silent”, but seriously I do. I wasn’t raised a fool. I know when to hold ’em and when to fold ’em. These days pretty much anything sets people off. So, being silent is way easier. Despite what some may believe about me – I am NOT just saying things to piss people off. That was also said to me during this same exchange of opinions.

Anyway, I digressed. I had reached my threshold of silence. I was sick of hearing this one person’s opinion about sooooo many things and their chosen topic just happened to be one that I had PERSONAL experience in. So I spoke up. I never used one word of profanity to attempt to speak my mind. Shocking I know. I cannot say that about the opinion being spouted at me. Sadly, because this person chose to visibly be on the brink of tears just as a passerby happened to hear things, I was later pretty much chastised for speaking my opinion. YEAH. Folks that is the climate we live in. Opinions are not allowed if you aren’t in agreement.

NEWSFLASH!!!

Not everyone will agree on everything. If we did this world would be boring and even more screwed up place to live. I don’t understand why it is okay for one side to speak but not the other? Why are we so worried about upsetting one person and not the other? Ever heard of “agree to disagree”? A healthy conversation about viewpoints keeps the mind strong. One sided conversations are boring and pointless. I have lived through some things that mold my opinion on those things and to say that I am “talking out of my ass” is completely unfair and close-minded. For a generation to be screaming inclusion they sure are excluding more than they include.

Ok. I gave ya some ‘off the air’ material that I hope made ya wanna go listen….please. Come back here and comment your thoughts on the episode….and unlike many out there – I welcome all thoughts.
