APRIL 5&6, 2020 – These two days were pretty much the same, so they will be one post.
SUNDAY – Thankful for all that work, pressure washing the porch and cleaning, because I spent two days straight just relaxing on the porch. At one point the whole family was chilling on the porch. The dogs got out in the yard, with the luxury of a lead, and got some much needed exercise. Thank you PetSmart for being open and having curbside pickup, we needed these leads because the dogs needed the exercise.
Of course, cheap entertainment for us was watching our youngest brush Jack & Rubi, 2 of the 3 Huskies, our yard looked like a teddy bear has been unstuffed. It was wonderful to see the results of her hard work, as poor Rubi’s blowout is always worse.
We cooked burgers Sunday evening, on the grill and fries in the “new” air fryer. Judgement is still out on the air fryer. Less greasy for sure but probably a little too dry. Learning, Lord knows we have time these days.
Speaking of learning, sitting on the porch last few days has afforded me some time to learn the habits of fellow neighbors. Though we are suppose to be under a “stay home, stay healthy” order, you cannot tell it. So, so, so many cars leaving and returning MULTIPLE times. Heck, Monday there was a neighbor who arrived from one direction in his truck and half an hour later left on his motorcycle. I gave the benefit of the doubt that perhaps he just opted to come home at lunch and grab the bike. Well, ummmm, no…about an hour later he came back on bike. That was clearly a joy ride. The one thing we are discouraged from doing.
Now, more porch chilling on MONDAY…we occupied ourselves with the 3 dogs, well, myself and the youngest did. When we first went out, around 1, we noticed a strange car sitting beside the house. Watching it, I was tempted to approach but scared at the same time. They finally drove off and appeared to have their phone up taking video our direction. No clue what that was about but it pisses me off that folks can do that even if it is relators or even mortgage holders checking occupancy status of a home. We have not moved in 13 years! We have not waivered from our responsibilities in 13 years! We have no reason to be watched!
The rest of Monday was pretty calm up until about 5pm. The dogs and the youngest were in the yard off and on jumping and running. We had tossed some old PVC pipes during garage cleanup and pulled them out to make some “obstacles” for the dogs. Have to say, my youngest definitely has my creative gene.
Hubby finished work and took my car to get gas. I kinda violated house rule#1 a week ago and parked it with 1/4 a tank. We also had battery issues so he had to drive it to see if it was okay. While he was gone, I decided to dive into a patio furniture repair job. Worked until dark…gotta fix one of the two stools I did, but not a bad job for 20 year old patio furniture.
This project was challenging because I had old stretched plastic like material and I was using sunbrella canvas as a replacement. Different materials so size was off a bit. Didn’t help that I also still have moments of pain in my wrist, remember garage cleanup mishap with the pan above me? Well, it was really hurting Sunday night, so I put ice on it and wrapped it for the night. If I twist or pull it sends a pain like needles in my wrist/thumb area. So, if ya ever sew, and you are right handed, you know the challenge.
Regardless of what the world is doing around us…atleast my family is doing our part to keep ourselves well during this pandemic. #stayhomestayhealthy #COVID-19
