Ever heard that word?
Do you know what it means?
Can you use it in a sentence?
I have…I do and I will:
Someone, somewhere has to accept accountability and speak up.
Today, it’s really rubbing me raw. I am trying to show my ability to be accountable yet, I am looked at like I have 3 arms, no face and speak alien. It’s a touchy subject to me…logos and standards.
As an artist, yes…I am deep down inside an artist, I respect the work that goes into designing a logo. Some logos go through more scrutiny than the national debt. Others just fall out of the creative minds and into circulation. Most of the time, the logo is designed with “standards of use“. These standards may include color codes, also known as Pantone Colour Guides, fonts, sizes and even acceptable reproduction mediums, i.e. print, web etc. Regardless, someone has to be responsible for knowing these standards exist. Do you rely on the customer/client? Do you rely on production personnel? Well, in my opinion, as artists who work for a branding business, it is YOUR job to know this and communicate this with customers and internal personnel.
If your job is to help the “customer spread their brand“, it is absolutely your job to know when an established “brand” has standards and follow them!
