Accountability

Here we go again….7 days left in the school year and I’m notified that about an assignment or two due a MONTH ago!
My reply…..

“It’s hard to hold kids accountable if we don’t take IMMEDIATE action and let things slide for months. It’s giving the impression that it’s not important so the student won’t value it…regardless of the fact that it’s THEIRgrade.”

How hard is it to send out an email say…2 days after due date versus a MONTH?!

Ok yes, it’s a high school student…they SHOULD not need reminders; however, even adults need reminders, thus the invention of sticky notes, iPhone apps, white board calendars, day timers and the list goes on. Let’s not focus on making a child grow up as much as making an adult become accountable!!!!
