Today…it’s all about the tidbit of great news. The Junior class at our school are required to attend school on March 18th to take the Statewide ACT. Our school has setup that day as a “digital learning day” for all other grades; meaning they stay home and work via online or on packets provided by teachers.
That also happens to be the day that the State setup a year ago to have the KHSAA NASP Archery State tournament in Louisville. Over 300 Juniors in the Commonwealth of KY would essentially miss this event.
Fortunately, our school has an advocate who stepped up and confirmed today that April 15th is a makeup date for those attending the archery tournament. When asked directly, Ms Janet Granada said “I contacted both Dr. Holliday and KHSAA when I found out about the conflict. Not that I made a difference, but I felt I had to advocate for my kids.
Anyway, the kids can do both!”
That is great news for the program that coaches, students and parents have worked tirelessly to build in Jessamine County.
Way to go Granada!!!
Now, archers…. let’s aim for yellow !!!
Good luck at State!!!!!
